The Rising Sun Montessori School in Johannesburg South is run on the principles and philosophy of Dr Maria Montessori founder of the Montessori method of education. It caters for children from ages 2^1/2 to 6 years. 

The method is concerned with the development of the conscious mind through exposure to purposeful activities, development of self – direction. The role of the Montessori directress is to assist your child to fulfill all their developmental needs within a specially prepared environment. 

The schools motto: “We make everyday the day of the child” shows that the directress strive to help each and every child reach their full potential everyday. Each day gives your child the opportunity to learn and further develop their skills. 

The Rising Sun Montessori School prides itself in developing children with self – discipline, self – knowledge and independence, as well as an enthusiasm for learning and an organised approach to problem solving and academic skills. Apart from academic curricula, the school also offers various extra mural activities such as Experi-Buddies and Megha Starz etc.

The Megha Starz is a compulsory extra mural activity.

The school uniform, which consists of school T-shirt, Peak Cap & Drymac should be worn every Tuesdays and Thursdays to help inculcate the concept of uniform.
